Q. Can you make me a toony suit?
A. NO, it clearly states in my TOS that I only do realistic suits.
Q. How about (insert licensed character here)?
A. No, it is technically against copyright law for me to do so.
Q. Are your suits made with real fur?
A. No, unless specifically stated and requested, I only use high quality faux fur, from a variety of sources. Occasionally I use things like horse hair for whiskers or manes, but no animals are harmed to provide that, just groomed.
Q. I don't have a character sheet made up. Can you still make my suit?
A. As a part of your suit commission (heads and up) a ref sheet of your items is included in the price from BGArts. If you want to get one from her before you commission me, you will get a discount on your items.
Q. I have a deadline for (insert convention here). Can you get my suit done for then?
A. It depends. If I have other suits in my queue and you want in in 3 months, probably not, as I DO NOT do rush orders. If you have given me ample time, I will do my best to meet your deadline, but I work best at my own pace.
Q. I'm under 18, can I still get a suit from you?
A. That depends too. If you have a parent/legal guardian/close friend who is willing to play middleman, I'll gladly make your suit. However, I cannot legally enter a contract with a minor, so I will not do heads, partials, or fullsuits without parental consent and input.
Q. I paid my 30% deposit a few months ago, but due to hardship I don't want the suit anymore. Can I get a refund?
A. It seems that a lot of people commissioning fursuits are unfamiliar with the way the nonrefundable deposits work, so I'm gonna clarify how they work with me. The non-refundable deposits are generally explained as cost of materials, but in reality it is a little more complicated than that. It takes time to source out materials, come up with a design (yes, even if you have detailed reference, it still takes time to translate that into a 3D design), order samples, and wait on the fur to come in, let alone shipping on the materials and supply runs locally and what not. All of this is time I cannot spend doing anything else. I try to charge as little for the deposit as I can reasonably get away with without having to buy too many supplies out of pocket. Once fur is ordered, it cannot be canceled in most, if not all, cases. Therefore, in my case at least, the non-refundable deposit is exactly that - NONREFUNDABLE. That includes material refunds.
Q. When my suit is finished, will you be mailing the leftover fur with it?
A. No, any leftover/scrap fur from making your commission belongs to me unless otherwise discussed. You are paying for your commission, not your commission and the leftover supplies. I am more than glad to include fur samples or scrap for repairs, but there will be a small fee for doing so.
Q. How do I wash my suit?
A. If there is no paint on your suit, washing in a machine with cold water on delicate works well. If there are painted markings, it's kind of iffy. I do my best to get the most durable paints I can find, but there is always a possibility of fading. You can reduce this by turning it inside out, but with repeated washings it WILL fade eventually. I wash mine with shampoo, but a good, non-dyed gentle detergent works as well. DO NOT PUT ANY FUR IN THE DRYER UNLESS YOU HAVE TESTED YOUR NO HEAT SETTING. Fur fibers are plastic, and will melt and mat, and there is no fixing that once it happens. Heads cannot be washed, and are spot clean only. Paws are best washed in a pillowcase.
